The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced the launch of a project to issue a stablecoin in tenge. The Evo token was issued by the Intebix crypto exchange with the participation of Solana, Mastercard and the Eurasian Bank. The coin is linked to the exchange rate of tenge 1 to 1 and will become a universal means of payment in the future.
The project aims to integrate the crypto market with the traditional financial systеm. It is expected that the stablecoin will simplify the exchange of cryptocurrencies for tenge and will become the base for crypto cards with instant conversion.
The head of the regulator, Timur Suleimenov, recalled that the development of digital financial products was designated as a state priority in the message of the President of Kazakhstan.
