Russia has overtaken Britain in terms of the size of cryptocurrency transactions, taking the first place in Europe. The volume of cryptocurrency transactions in Russia amounted to $376 billion between July 2023 and June 2025, according to estimates by the analytical company Chainalysis.
Activity has tripled since 2023, leaving Britain far behind, where cryptocurrency transactions totaled $273 billion.
Experts emphasized that the regulatory environment in Russia can also contribute to the gradual expansion of operations and the development of the national cryptocurrency market.
