Bitcoin falls below $19,000 after the release of US inflation data

Annual inflation in the US slowed down from 8.3% to 8.2%, while the forecast value was 8.1%. Bitcoin fell to $18,200.

At the end of September, inflation in the US increased by 0.4% on a monthly basis, according to the latest CPI data. Annual inflation slowed down from 8.3% to 8.2%, while the forecast value was 8.1%. Both of these indicators exceeded the estimates of Bloomberg analysts, who promised 0.2% m/m and 8.1% y/y.

Note that just before the publication of this data, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies went down sharply, and Bitcoin fell to $8500.

At the same time, immediately after the publication of the information, BTC completely updated the local minimum in the $8200 area. Historically, when US inflation is higher than expected, BTC loses an average of 5% within 30 minutes of the publication of the relevant information.
